100th Day Collections

Today was the 100th day of school! We read a few books about celebrating 100 days in first grade. The children made 100th day headbands, created designs with 100 objects and counted to 100 in different ways. We had a fun day!

We worked with our third grade buddies and created structures with 100 objects. We used 100 cups, 100 pattern blocks, 100 geoblocks and 100 cubes. We also tried adding 100 drops of water on a penny. We had a fun morning celebrating 100!

 

Partners to 10

First graders played different games to learn partners to 10 this week. They played Make 10, 10 Counters in a Cup, and Tens Go Fish. They are getting really good at telling the numbers that added together make a total of ten.

World Read Aloud Day and Groundhog Day

The first and third graders celebrated World Read Aloud Day by choosing books to read to each other. They worked on reading fluently and with expression. They also learned about Groundhog Day and made a fun craft together. I wonder if Phil will see his shadow tomorrow?
