We took out the sleds to learn about different kinds of force. We pulled empty sleds and then ones with friends inside and shared the difference. We practiced giving gentle pushes on the sledding hill and noticed what happened. Then we gave harder pushes and noticed the sleds went farther and faster. We had a fun afternoon in the new snow!
The kindergarten friends measured the length of their shoes using cubes. We talked about ways to measure accurately by snapping cubes together, measuring from heel to toe in a straight line, and counting carefully.
Kindergarten friends got a new tool today. They now have a reading mat to help them organize their reading. On one side (green side) they stack all their books to read by putting easier books on the top. Then they move books over to the other side (red side) once they've read them. It's a fun new way to make a plan during reading workshop!
