Hopes and Dreams

We listened to the book, Leo the Lightning Bug, and shared ideas about what we hope to learn and do this year in kindergarten. Everyone chose one thing they hope to do and added it to the classroom tree we painted together.

 Recycle Rhonda

Recycle Rhonda from Chittenden Solid Waste District visited UCS on Wednesday. She taught us about reducing, reusing, and recycling. The children learned how all the trash goes in the landfill but we can limit what goes in there by recycling and composting. The children practiced sorting materials and learned how important it is to reduce waste to be planet protectors.

 You Be You

We read the book, You Be You and shared things that make us unique and special. We decorated fish to show things that make us special and then painted them with some of our favorite colors.
