Race to the Top: How Many Tens?

First graders learned a new game this week to practice place value strategies. They added a multiple of ten to a single digit number and figured out the total. Then they used cubes to build it to show tens and ones. They shared how many groups of ten were in different numbers. They recorded numbers in a column that showed the number of tens.
