Writing Collections

The first graders brought in collections of some of their favorite things last week. They brought in collections of shells, rocks, cards, erasers, mini football helmets, keys and much more! The children reviewed their collections and made choices about which item in the collection was the best. Then they wrote reasons to defend their choice. This writing is their introduction to writing reviews. Later in the unit they will write reviews of restaurants, toys, games, movies, books, and favorite places to visit.
