States of Matter

First and second graders are exploring the properties of solids and liquids. They are making observations using their five senses.  They noticed that solids have a shape of their own but liquids take the shape of the container.

ALL SCHOOL MEETING

The class really enjoyed leading All School Meeting on Tuesday. The children shared writing pieces, apple mosaics, and songs. We also created a Jammin' Minute and had the whole school exercise. Derek chose the healthy tip which was: Don't eat junk food, eat healthy food!

Our Classroom Rules

Mrs. Cowan's first and second grade friends brainstormed rules together. They decided these rules were important to have so everyone can achieve their goals this year.

1.  Take care of yourself and materials.
2.  Be safe and stay in your own space.
3.  Treat others the way you want to be treated.
4.  Try your best and have fun!

Morning Recess
Next week we will start having a morning recess from 7:25-7:45.  All K-2 students will walk in the building, leave backpacks in the gym, and head out to the playground.  Teachers will be outside monitoring while students enjoy talking with friends and getting exercise.
