Crafternoon

The first and third graders had a fun time making bunny puppets today. They were very creative and made so many different ones. We appreciate Mrs. Bernier's friends helping us with this project. 

Young Writers!

The first graders are busy writing poems during writing workshop. They needed new ideas for topics so we went outside to be inspired. They wrote many new poems about the mountain, wind, sandbox, slide and swings. They thought carefully about the mood of their poems and what words they needed to write to share that feeling. Our third grade buddies enjoyed writing poems with us too. 

Reading Adventures

First graders are busy reading stories and going on adventures. They are working hard to remember important details. This week they used Post-its to mark important parts of a story. Then they flipped through the book and used the Post-its to retell the story. 

Our Week

We had a busy week in first grade! We identified common traits in animals during science, wrote different kinds of poems, made flowers with our third grade buddies, read many stories and enjoyed the sunshine on the playground!
