First Grade Celebration!

The first graders worked together to earn 100 stamps by following classroom directions. When they reached their goal, they brainstormed ideas for ways to celebrate. Then everyone voted and chose a popsicle party. We will set new goals throughout the year and work together as a team!

3rd Grade Buddies

The first graders are enjoying doing projects with the third graders each week. This week they made apple mosaics together. After they finish the craft, they read books together. The third graders are doing a great job being leaders and helping their younger friends with directions.

Explore Time!

The first graders are enjoying Explore Time at the end of the day. Some friends build with blocks, cubes or Legos. Other friends draw, color and make books.

Playground Fun!

The first graders are really enjoying our extra breaks on the playground. They are working on including others in games, sharing equipment and playing safely.  The weather has been great for lots of outside time!

Week Two!

First graders are busy learning new routines throughout the day. They are learning how to select just right books during reading workshop, choose topics and write during all of writing workshop, count accurately during math time, and investigate new classroom materials during explore time.
