Reading Like a Star!
The first graders have been busy rereading stories to see new details, learn more about characters, make their voices smoother, and to show the big feelings in each part of the book. They rehearsed their stories and monitored their reading voices. They used all the clues the authors left behind to help them read (punctuation, dialogue tags, pictures, and special print). Today their reading buddies came to celebrate their reading success. They showed their third grade buddies how they read fluently and bring stories to life!

Survey Questions
First graders chose their own survey question to ask friends and collected data. They recorded information so they could keep track of the data. They will make a representation of their data tomorrow to share what they learned from asking their question. Ask your child to tell you the question s/he asked the class.
