Horse vs. Donkey
Check out the digital storybook first graders created with Mr. Baron. They researched similarities and differences between two organisms. Then students created pages to compare/contrast features of these animals. Thank you Mr. Baron for helping with this fun tech project!

The Garden Project
Every year K-2 classes work with community volunteers, Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Kargman, to plant flowers and vegetables for the garden at the Deborah Rawson Library. The children help plant the seeds and then water/care for the plants until they are ready to be transplanted in the ground in June. Not only do they learn about how plants grow, they also learn about the importance of helping others in the community. When the vegetables are ready to be harvested, they are brought to the Food Shelf. The first graders planted tomato and cabbage seeds today. They are eager to watch the plants grow and care for them.

Spring
The first graders are so excited for the warm spring weather! This week they painted and wrote about their favorite things to do in this season. They even sang a song with Buddy Dubay. Listen to the first graders get ready to fly a kite...

Reading Partners
Partners share their reading adventures! They work together to notice the important parts, see more on each page, retell the story, and make connections. They think ahead, share what might happen next and talk about books to understand more.
