Our first few days in kindergarten have been wonderful!  The children are getting to know one another, learning the routines of the classroom and school, and exploring materials.  There is so much to learn at the start of the year!

Each day we begin with a morning meeting.  This is a time when children and adults greet one another and help everyone feel welcome. The children work on many social skills during morning meeting including active listening, participating, and interacting with friends in a positive manner. Morning meeting is a great way to start the day and reminds everyone that our classroom learning community is caring, safe, and respectful.

We will spend the first few weeks building community within the classroom and school.  The children will be reminded of the routines and procedures during the day.  We will work on taking care of ourselves, helping others, and respecting materials.
